August Is Membership and New Club Development Month
August is Membership and New Club Development Month, providing every club with an opportunity to strengthen not only its membership numbers, but also the experience of every Rotarian and Rotaractor. Membership growth begins with engaged members, and clubs are encouraged to take time this month to evaluate how they welcome new members, celebrate existing ones, and create meaningful opportunities for fellowship, service and leadership. A positive club experience remains one of the greatest tools for attracting and retaining members.During August, clubs are also encouraged to participate in the District’s membership learning opportunities, share their membership successes and challenges, and engage with the District Membership Committee as a partner in achieving their goals. Whether your club is focused on attracting new members, improving retention, or strengthening member engagement, remember that every club has unique strengths to build upon. Together, through collaboration, learning and the sharing of best practices, we can continue to grow Rotary District 7030 so that we may do more, serve more and create an even greater impact across the Caribbean.
For the 2026–2027 Rotary year, our Committee’s primary focus is to help clubs grow through collaboration rather than prescription. Our key objectives include:
- Strengthening member engagement through quarterly Membership Meet-ups where clubs can share challenges, exchange best practices and learn from one another.
- Delivering district-wide membership learning sessions that respond directly to the needs identified by clubs.
- Supporting clubs experiencing membership decline while recognizing and celebrating those achieving sustained growth.
- Developing a “Welcome to Rotary District 7030” booklet to enhance the new member experience across the district.
- Launching an “I Am Rotary District 7030” membership promotional video competition to showcase the pride, diversity and impact of Rotary throughout our Caribbean family.
Above all, our goals are to ensure that the District Membership Committee is viewed as a trusted partner to every club, providing practical support, encouraging innovation and helping clubs create meaningful experiences that inspire members to stay, grow and invite others to join Rotary. By strengthening our membership, we strengthen our ability to create lasting impact in the communities we serve.
About Giselle. As Co-Chair of the District Membership Committee, my role is to support clubs in creating vibrant, engaging and sustainable membership experiences. Working alongside our committee, Assistant Governors and Club Membership Chairs, we seek to provide practical resources, coaching and opportunities that help clubs attract, engage and retain members while encouraging the development of new clubs throughout District 7030.
