The Rotaract Club of B.B.C.O. proudly hosted Tori Tap Wan Broki, a reading competition in Commewijne, Suriname, focused on promoting basic education and literacy among young students.

This year, 12 students from 12 primary schools across Commewijne, Suriname participated, showcasing their reading skills, comprehension, confidence, and love for storytelling. The winner receives the title “Leisi Konkoni”  Reading Champion.

We proudly congratulate Faith Poeran from OS Lust in Rust, who made history as the first-ever Leisi Konkoni

Through Tori Tap Wan Broki, we aim to inspire children across Commewijne to discover the joy of reading and recognize literacy as an important foundation for learning and future opportunities.

And we’re not stopping here! Tori Tap Wan Broki will return in 2027 with peace as its central theme, combining our love for reading with the message of peace.
