Respected businessman and longstanding community humanitarian, Leslie Ramdhanny JP OBE, has been installed as Rotary International’s first Governor of District 7030 from Grenada.
As District Governor, all Rotary and affiliated Rotary clubs in the southern Caribbean - from Antigua to Suriname - will look to him for leadership, support, and motivation as they carry out service projects and participate in programs. Leslie was nominated for the position in 2019 and was met with overwhelming support throughout the region.
To many, becoming District Governor is the natural progression for Leslie’s Rotary career, as he has been a dedicated member of the organization for 45 years. His Rotary journey began as a chartered member of the Rotary Club of Grenada East in October 1977. Since then, he has served as President, Secretary, Treasurer and on other club committees on numerous occasions.
At the District level, he has served as the Chair of several committees and has been elected as the Assistant Governor on five occasions. He has also fully embodied the Rotary mantra of fellowship through service, through his almost perfect attendance and active participation at District Conferences and Rotary Conventions. To date, he has received multiple Paul Harris Fellow awards and is also a Paul Harris Society Member and a Benefactor.
When asked to comment on the significance of his installation, Leslie humbly stated, “It truly is an honour and a privilege to be the Rotary District 7030 Governor, representing over 3000 Rotarians, Rotaractors and Interactors.” He continued by sharing his vision for his tenure, “It is my goal to encourage clubs to create an atmosphere of comfort and care for their members and to extend that philosophy to our community. This will allow everyone to feel welcomed and willing to participate in our efforts that improve lives. We must be recognized as people of action who are doing good in the world.”
When not engaged in Rotary work, Leslie is actively working in his family business - Ramdhanny & Company Ltd - where he has been Chairman for the last 47 years. Despite having a busy schedule, Leslie has also served on several private and public sector boards.
Leslie ascending to the top leadership position of the District is monumental to both the Rotary organization and Grenada. As such, nine former District Governors from across the region will be arriving in Grenada to attend the in-person installation. The formal ceremony was held on Saturday, July 16th at the Radisson Beach Resort. The event was attended by the Governor General, Her Excellency Dame Cecile La Grenade and the newly elected Prime Minister The Honourable Dickon Mitchell.
Rotary District 7030 consists of 74 clubs in 17 countries and encompasses a variety of cultures and languages. Leslie aims to continue his active participation in his local club while executing his duties as Governor of District 7030.

Leslie Ramdhanny JP OBE, homme d'affaires respecté et humaniste de longue date, a été nommé premier Gouverneur du District 7030 du Rotary International pour la Grenade.
En tant que Gouverneur de District, tous les clubs Rotary et autres clubs du sud de la Caraïbe - d'Antigua au Suriname - se tourneront vers lui pour son leadership, son soutien et sa motivation dans la réalisation d'actions et la participation à des programmes. Leslie a été désigné à ce poste en 2019 et a reçu un soutien massif dans toute la région.
Pour beaucoup, devenir Gouverneur de District est la progression naturelle de la carrière Rotarienne de Leslie, qui est un membre dévoué de l'organisation depuis 45 ans. Son parcours rotarien a débuté en tant que membre fondateur du Rotary Club de Grenade Est en octobre 1977. Depuis lors, il a occupé les fonctions de Président, Secrétaire, Trésorier et d'autres commissions du club à de nombreuses reprises.
Au niveau du District, il a été Président de plusieurs commissions et a été désigné Adjoint du Gouverneur à cinq reprises. Il a également pleinement incarné la devise du Rotary, la camaraderie par le service, par son assiduité presque parfaite et sa participation active aux Conférences de District et aux Conventions du Rotary. À ce jour, il a reçu plusieurs Paul Harris Fellow et est également membre du Cercle Paul Harris et Bienfaiteur.
Lorsqu'on lui a demandé de commenter la signification de son installation, Leslie a déclaré humblement : "C'est vraiment un honneur et un privilège d'être Gouverneur du District 7030, représentant plus de 3000 Rotariens, Rotaractiens et Interactiens". Il a poursuivi en partageant sa vision pour son mandat : "Mon objectif est d'encourager les clubs à créer une atmosphère de confort et d'attention pour leurs membres et d'étendre cette philosophie à notre communauté. Cela permettra à chacun de se sentir accueilli et de participer à nos efforts pour améliorer des vies. Nous devons être reconnus comme des personnes d'action qui font le bien dans le monde."
Lorsqu'il n'est pas engagé dans le Rotary, Leslie travaille activement dans son entreprise familiale - Ramdhanny & Company Ltd - dont il est le Dirigeant depuis 47 ans. Malgré un emploi du temps chargé, Leslie a également siégé dans plusieurs conseils d'administration des secteurs privé et public.
L'ascension de Leslie à la tête du District est un événement monumental tant pour le Rotary que pour la Grenade. À ce titre, neuf anciens Gouverneurs de District de toute la région arriveront à Grenade pour assister à l'installation en personne. La cérémonie officielle a eu lieu le samedi 16 juillet au Radisson Beach Resort. La Gouverneure Générale, Son Excellence Dame Cécile La Grenade et le Premier Ministre nouvellement élu, l'Honorable Dickon Mitchell, ont assisté à l'événement.
Le District 7030 du Rotary est composé de 74 clubs répartis dans 17 pays et englobe une grande variété de cultures et de langues. Leslie entend poursuivre sa participation active au sein de son club local tout en s'acquittant de ses fonctions de Gouverneur du District 7030.
