On Saturday 20th November 2010, more than 80 Rotaractors from across Trinidad and Tobago participated in a workshop on Protocol and Etiquette, coordinated by DGE Lara Quentrall-Thomas in conjunction with the US Embassy in Port of Spain. Held at the UTT in Valsayn, this workshop was the outcome of a visit by DG Tony Watkins to the US Ambassador in Trinidad earlier this year, during which he encouraged her to partner with Rotary District 7030 to support our young leaders as they continually enhance their leadership skills.

After inspiring opening remarks by David Wolfe, the Chargé d'Affaires at the US Embassy, the session began with a lively icebreaker in which Rotaractors shared their aspirations and dreams with each other.  During the workshop, participants discussed Dressing for Success, Power of the Word and Interviewing with a Purpose. The experienced and highly regarded speakers shared invaluable information such as using body language to your advantage, inappropriate clothing for interview, professional greetings and handshakes, and how to make the best possible first impression.

The feedback at the end of the workshop was very positive, with one Rotaractor sharing that the information she learnt would be extremely useful for a job interview she had on Monday.

Let's just hope she got the job!
