World Aids Day Donations

Rotary Club of Garden City (Georgetown) Guyana in partnership with The Pan Caribbean Partnership Against HIV and AIDS (PANCAP) – Celebrating World AIDS day.

Each year, December 1st 2020 is commemorated as World AIDS Day, an international day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection, to recognize those who continue to work to end AIDS, and to pause and remember those who have left us because of this disease. The members of RCGCGT were informed that HIV projects and programs are having a hard time securing food stuff to assist Aids patients- much of such funds have been diverted to supporting the vulnerable communities in the current Pandemic – The EPIC Team sprang into action and made a donation towards the purchase of food stuff for Aids patients.

After all we are “PEOPLE OF ACTION”!

Donations to the Cheshire Home

The Cheshire Home has been identified by the RCGCGT as a Home we will be partnering with to establish a “Vegetable Garden and Nursery” – This “Green Thrive” project is set to commence in the 1st quarter of 2021.

We were informed early December that the home was in need of some basic food and personal items and with funds raised from our recent fundraiser the club made a generous donation towards the purchase of these items.

Busy Bees of the Rotary Club of Garden City (Georgetown) Guyana

The Rotary Club of Garden City (Georgetown) Guyana launched it’s ‘Water Bottle’ project at the Mocha Arcadia Primary School in the presence of a small group of school children and Headmistress Vanessa Tumbler. This is in support of the Childhood Obesity Prevention Campaign initiated by our District 7030. – a drive to get children to eat healthy foods and drink more water.

A brief message was shared with the children on the importance of drinking water. Reusable bottles were distributed to the Children and they were urged to drink at least 2 bottles per day.

We took the opportunity to spread some Christmas cheer to the children with gifts of Books and Games and Maggie’s Catering topped it off by contributing a snack packet for all the Children.
