Coastal Replanting Project
On Saturday 21st January, the Rotary Club of Tobago along with the Rotary Family in Tobago conducted a coastal replanting project along the shoreline of Lambeau Beach.
Fifty (50) seedlings (Seagrape and White Poui) were donated by the Division of Food Security, Natural Resources, the Environment and Sustainable Development to plant along the coast that stretched over 1 mile.
We were happy to execute this project during DG Leslie Ramdhanny and DRR Justin Seheult’s visit to the island of Tobago as Coastal Erosion has become a serious issue on the island and the Environment is one of our main areas of Focus this year.
Wheelchair Distribution
On January 29th The Rotary Club of Felicity/Charlieville and "Chair The Love" from the USA in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Tobago and the Rotary Club of Southwest Tobago donated 40 wheelchairs to residents of Tobago.
This distribution was done at the Lambeau Multipurpose Facility, Tobago with over 30 volunteers assisting recipients and their families.
This project took months of planning and coordination, and we were so happy to be able to provide such relief to those who needed it most! This was a truly heart-warming project.
Friendship Exchange
On Saturday 25th February, 2023, The Rotary Club of Tobago along with the Rotary Club of Southwest Tobago, Rotaract Club of Tobago and the Interact Club of Southwest Tobago welcomed six (6) visiting Rotarians from Thailand, Canada and the USA through the Rotary Friendship Exchange Program.
Of course we had to let them taste our renowned Crab and Dumpling at the Store Bay Beach Facility and they loved it!
This Exchange allows you to genuinely experience another culture, guided by friends in Rotary. Exchange participants take turns hosting and visiting one another, forging friendships that last a lifetime.
We were able to exchange a lot of information about our cultures through our social event and fellowship.
Projet de reboisement côtier
Le samedi 21 janvier, le Rotary Club de Tobago et la Famille Rotary de Tobago ont mené une action de reboisement côtier le long du littoral de Lambeau Beach. Cinquante (50) plants (Seagrape et White Poui) ont été donnés par la Division de la Sécurité Alimentaire, des Ressources naturelles, de l'environnement et du développement Durable pour planter le long de la côte qui s'étendait sur plus d'un mile. Nous avons été heureux d'exécuter ce projet pendant la visite de DG Leslie Ramdhanny et du DRR Justin Seheult sur l'île de Tobago, car l'érosion côtière est devenue un problème sérieux sur l'île et l'environnement est l'un de nos aAxes tratégiques cette année.
Échanges amicaux du Rotary
Le samedi 25 février 2023, le Rotary club de Tobago, le Rotary club de Southwest Tobago, le club Rotaract de Tobago et le club Interact de Southwest Tobago ont accueilli six Rotariens de Thaïlande, du Canada et des États-Unis dans le cadre du programme d'Echange d'Amitié du Rotary. Bien sûr, nous avons dû leur faire goûter nos célèbres crabe et dombrés au Store Bay Beach Facility et ils ont adoré ! Cet échange vous permet de découvrir une autre culture, guidé par des amis du Rotary. Les participants à l'échange s'accueillent et se rendent visite à tour de rôle, forgeant ainsi des amitiés qui durent toute une vie. Nous avons pu échanger de nombreuses informations sur nos cultures respectives grâce à nos activités sociales et à notre camaraderie.
Distribution de fauteuils roulants
Le 29 janvier, le Rotary Club de Felicity/Charlieville et "Chair The Love" des États-Unis, en collaboration avec le Rotary Club de Tobago et le Rotary Club de Southwest Tobago, ont fait don de 40 fauteuils roulants à des résidents de Tobago. Cette distribution a eu lieu au centre polyvalent de Lambeau, à Tobago, et plus de 30 bénévoles ont aidé les bénéficiaires et leurs familles. Ce projet a nécessité des mois de planification et de coordination, et nous sommes très heureux d'avoir pu apporter une telle aide à ceux qui en avaient le plus besoin ! Ce projet nous a vraiment fait chaud au cœur.
