On Friday 03rd March 2017, the second session of dental screening facilitated by the Rotary Club of Princes Town for members of the Cerebral Palsy Society of Trinidad and Tobago ("the Society") took place at the Special Needs Clinic of the UWI Dental School at Mount Hope – a clinic specially equipped and staffed to cater for the needs of patients with special needs.

This concluded a two day screening session which the Club had embarked upon in partnership with the University of the West Indies (UWI) Dental School towards assisting members of the Society whom it recognized face challenges in affording the cost of dental services and in accessing dental services.

Over the two day period 27 cerebral palsy patients participated in the free dental screening.

The Club in continued partnership with the Dental School is now actively engaged in carrying out the treatment identified for the 21 patients at a significantly reduced cost through the dental school and for 6 patients who require treatment which is unavailable through the dental school through private practitioners in its efforts to ensure that all patients who accessed the screening receive the requisite follow up treatment.

The Club records its thanks to the UWI Dental School and staff for their ongoing commitment to the project and looks forward to the successful completion of it in the near future.
