On Sunday 15th November 2020, the Rotary Club of Garden City (Georgetown), Guyana hosted their first ever fundraiser. The Tropical Grill Lunch event offered both take-away and curb-side pick-up service and saw hundreds of persons patronizing this inaugural activity of the newly chartered club in Guyana.
Generous support was also given to the Reusable Bags Project – the club's signature project to promote healthy living through the reduction of waste and single use plastic bags by providing sustainable alternatives in three sizes which are produced locally in Guyana from durable fabric.
All funds raised from the event are carded for the club's Service Projects.
Another first that took place that day included first physical gathering of club members since the group was formed – all other activities including, information and orientation sessions Charter Celebrations were conducted online. The 33 E.P.I.C. (Enthusiastic People Influencing Change) Member Club boasting a 98 percent turnout of members, who volunteered their time and also partook in fellowship.
