The Rotary Club of Garden City (Georgetown) the first Cause Based club in Guyana with a focus on environmental issues, donated garbage receptacles to the Protected Areas and National Parks Commissions.
Rotarian Erwin Chapman in representing the club shared the fact that Rotary Club of Garden City (Georgetown) is newest Rotary Club in Guyana, and their projects and activities will be focused on “Supporting the Environment”. This is the first donation to the commissions, and we look forward to continued collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
Ms Denise Fraser Commissioner of Protect Areas Commission and Ms Denise Bentick Director of the National Parks Commission expressed their appreciation for the receipt of the items. It was noted it is a timely donation as with the current national restrictions’ persons use the park not only physical health activities. The receptables will be able to support the cleanliness and aesthetics of the environs.
The Protected Areas Commission (PAC) is mandated to manage, maintain, promote and expand the national protected areas system in Guyana, and gives support to the urban parks in the city which falls under the purview of the National Parks Commission.

Mme Denise Fraser, commissaire de la Commission des zones de protection et Mme Denise Bentick, directrice de la Commission des Parcs Nationaux, ont exprimé leur gratitude pour la réception des articles. Il a été noté qu’il s’agit d’un don opportun, car avec les restrictions nationales actuelles, les personnes utilisent le parc non seulement pour des activités de santé physique. Les réceptables pourront soutenir la propreté et l'esthétique des environs.
La Commission des Aires Protégées est mandatée pour gérer, entretenir, promouvoir et étendre le système national des aires protégées en Guyane et apporte son soutien aux parcs urbains de la ville qui relèvent de la Commission des parcs nationaux.
