St. John’s Antigua, 7th April 2017 – President of the Rotary Club of Antigua Sundown (RCAS), Herald Rolland announced the continuation of the ‘Tennis with Samantha” Program at a recently held award ceremony for the tennis program for children with intellectual disabilities. “This experience has been very valuable,” said Mr. Rolland, RCAS President. “I think our club knew very early that this was a program we wanted to continue because we knew how important this activity was to these children.”

“Oftentimes I’ve dropped in on the tennis sessions to meet the students and get a firsthand view of what it’s like – And when you see a child take a swing at the ball and sometimes even miss it and that’s a big achievement for them – It puts things into perspective. You come to appreciate what you have and want to make life better for others where you can.”

The “Tennis with Samantha” ten-week tennis program was made up of students from the Adele School. The students were able to work on their motor and social skills while learning the fundamentals of tennis. Lessons were hosted twice weekly for ninety (90) minutes each session at the National Tennis Centre at Campsite.
