My Rotary Family, once again I am excited to bring you greetings from my wife, Maggie and myself as this month we focus on Membership and New Club Development. Building on the momentum that we achieved in July, and with an eye firmly fixed on our members, we are excited by the opportunities for growth that are seemingly boundless. We have seen that together we can create sustainable change as we harness the energy of the entire District to focus on common causes.
We have seen our District Committees functioning in support of our clubs through Membership and in support of our communities through Peace and Childhood Obesity Prevention. Our Foundation Committee has reported a successful Global Grant application in Dominica and the approval of a US$25,000 grant for COVID-19 relief.
My club visits are underway, albeit virtually and I believe those clubs with whom I have visited were happy for the interaction so early in the Rotary year. All club visits are scheduled and can be found on the District calendar via the website.
Our Rotary District 7030 brand is riding high on the waves of change supported by our core values of fellowship, integrity, diversity, service and leadership, as we hold a steady course with common purpose.
As we adapt to create new channels in Rotary, we are examining the creation of new club models such as the: e-clubs, hybrid clubs and cause-based clubs. Additionally, we will build on the success of the two satellite clubs already functioning in Saint Lucia.
We will also continue to build on the relationship that has been developed with our Rotaractors in order to grasp the countless opportunities for collaboration and sharing of knowledge as true partners within the Rotary family.
We have provided, and will continue to provide, interesting programmes with great speakers every month. Never in our history has access to knowledge been so available. The true internationality of Rotary is now more eye catching than ever. Surely it will now be easier to attract new prospective members with the opportunities available to us to showcase Rotary.
Therefore my Rotary family, let us open opportunities for our service projects, provide value to our members and grow ourselves.
Remember, each act of kindness is cumulative in our personal growth..
