Fellow District 7030 Rotarians,
Greeting, and welcome to Rotary Year 2019 -2020! I wish you a happy new Rotary year. I am delighted to connect with you through this medium, for the first time as District Governor. On Saturday, June 22 nd , IPDG Dominique ceremoniously invested me with the insignia of the office, but today, July 1 st , the District Leadership Team and I officially assume the mantle of leadership of the District.
Greeting, and welcome to Rotary Year 2019 -2020! I wish you a happy new Rotary year. I am delighted to connect with you through this medium, for the first time as District Governor. On Saturday, June 22 nd , IPDG Dominique ceremoniously invested me with the insignia of the office, but today, July 1 st , the District Leadership Team and I officially assume the mantle of leadership of the District.
I take office, today, with a deep sense of gratitude to you, the Rotarians of District 7030, for granting me the opportunity to serve you in this august position. I also do so with a sense of trepidation, cognizant of the weight of responsibility that attaches to the office. I further do so, with a sense of purpose, committed to uniting with all of you to take action to Connect the World, to make lasting changes in our communities here in the District in the first instance, but also globally, in tandem with 1.2 million fellow Rotarian worldwide, and finally, and perhaps more importantly, within ourselves.
The year ahead promises to be exciting. There is a number of imperatives for us in this rotary year. As Rotary International activates its new strategic plan and its priorities, we must bring own district strategic plan into full alignment. RI President Mark Maloney has chosen as the theme for this year - Rotary Connect the World. This not only highlights the unique position and power of Rotary in its global dimensions, but also emphasizes interconnection of the Family of Rotary. We must in District 7030, strive to strengthen these connections, in our clubs, in our local communities and across our district, and between the entire Family of Rotary, ie Rotary, Rotaract, Interact, and Earlyact. The sustainability of
Rotary will depend on the success we are able to achieve with the new generations.
I anticipate that the year will be challenging, as we seek to meet the goals set for the District. While these goals are perfectly attainable, they will require some effort by most clubs and may test the mettle of a few. To achieve them may require a change in the status quo, but we must all be not just merely open to change, we must embrace it! It is the only constant in life!
I expect it to be rewarding, as we consider the impact that we will make on our communities. As volunteers, our reward is the good that we do, and the comradery and fellowship we enjoy in our activities. I certainly hope that we will have much fun doing good this year.
In closing, I draw your attention to RI’s new vision: Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves. Let us unite and take action, in District 7030, to make our year - 2019/2020 - a great success!

Bonjour et bienvenue dans l’Année Rotarienne 2019-2020 ! Je vous souhaite une bonne année Rotarienne.
Je suis ravi de me connecter avec vous par ce moyen, pour la premire fois en qualité de Gouverneur de District. Samedi 22 Juin, IPDG Dominique m’a cérémonieusement remis l’insigne de la fonction, mais aujourd’hui, 1er Juillet, l’Equipe de Dirigeants du District et moi assumons officiellement le rôle de Dirigeants de District.
Je prends ma fonction, aujourd’hui, avec un profond sentiment de gratitude envers vous, les Rotariens du District 7030, pour m’avoir donné l’opportunité de vous servir à cette auguste position. Je le fais également avec un sentiment d’appréhension, conscient du poids de la responsabilité qui incombe au poste. De plus, je suis résolument engagé à m’unir à vous tous, afin d’agir pour Connecter le Monde, pour produire des changements durables dans nos communautés, ici dans le District en première instance, mais aussi à l’échelle mondiale, en tandem avec 1,2 million de Rotariens à travers le monde, et pour terminer, et peut-être le plus important, en nous-mêmes.
L’année à venir s’annonce passionante. Il y a plusieurs impératifs pour nous, durant cette année rotarienne. Alors que le Rotary International met en œuvre son nouveau plan stratégique et ses priorités, nous devons y aligner notre propre plan stratégique du District. Le Président du Ri, Mark Maloney a choisi come thème pour cette année : Le Rotary Connecte le Monde. Cela souligne non seulement la position et la puissance unique du Rotary dans sa dimension mondiale, mais aussi souligne l’interconnexion de la Famille Rotary. Nous devons, dans le District 7030, nous efforcer de renforcer ces connexions dans nos clubs, au sein de nos communautés locales et à travers notre District, et entre la famille Rotary tout entière, c’est-à-dire Rotary, Rotaract, Interact et EarlyAct. La pérennité du Rotary dépendra du succès que nous pouvons avoir avec les nouvelles générations.
Je prévois que l’année sera difficile, alors que nous cherchons à atteindre les objectifs fixés pour le District. Bien que ces objectifs soient parfaitement réalisables, ils demanderont quelques efforts à certains clubs et pourraient mettre d’autres à l’épreuve. Les atteindre pourrait exiger des changements dans le status quo, mais nous ne devons pas juste être ouverts au changement, nous devons l’accepter ! C’est la seule constante dans la vie !
Je m’attends à ce que ce soit enrichissant, car nous considérons l’impact que nous aurons dans nos communautés. En tant que vvolontaires, notre récompense est le bien que nous faisons, ainsi que la camaraderie et l’amitié que nous apprécions dans nos activités. J’espère que nous aurons certainement beaucoup de plaisir à faire le bien cette année.
Pour finir, j’attire votre attention sur la nouvelle vision du RI : Ensemble, nous voyons un monde où les personnes s’unissent et agissent pour créer du changement durable – à travers le globe, dans nos comunautés et en nous-mêmes. Soyons unis et agissons, dans le District 7030, pour faire de notre année 2019-2020 – un grand succès !
