Next year, Rotary takes a step toward supporting peacebuilding in the Middle East and North Africa region when recruitment begins for our newest peace center in partnership with Bahçeşehir University (BAU) in Istanbul.
A series of events in the coming year will recognize the new center at BAU and Rotary's work to promote peace. The 2024 Rotary International Convention in May will mark 25 years since the first Rotary Peace Centers were announced — coincidentally at the Rotary Convention in Singapore in 1999.
ROTARY DISTRICT 7030 INTRODUCTORY MENTAL HEALTH MESSAGE
Recognizing Mental Health as a Universal Human Right
October 10th was globally recognized as World Mental Health Day, and Rotary District 7030 proudly aligns with the global theme: "Mental health is a universal human right." Within the Caribbean community, mental health disorders stand as the 5th major non-communicable disease, affecting numerous lives and posing significant challenges. District 7030 therefore echoes the World Health Organization's timeless wisdom from 1948, and firmly believes that health encompasses complete physical, mental, emotional and social well-being.
This year’s Interact Awards invites Interact clubs to create an Interact promotion! Develop a promotional video, photo, and/or essay that raises awareness about Interact and shares what being an Interactor means to you and your Interact club. For the second year in the Interact Awards history, submissions will be accepted in Rotary’s official languages (English, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese)!
Submit your video, photo, and/or essay nominations by 3 December 2023 for a chance to be named “Best Video,” “Best Photo,” or “Best Essay” and receive funds to support your Interact club.’
Committees and committee leaders are the engines that drive healthy clubs. Committees engage members, create and carry out meaningful service projects, recruit new members and partners, and do much more.
Encourage members who are interested in starting or leading a committee to take the course Leading Effective Committees in the Learning Center.
