The World Health Organization designates 10 October as World Mental Health Day, and with Rotary placing a special focus on mental health this year, I would like to help answer the question posed to me most often when I travel to meet members: How can my club get started?

PROMOTING LITERACY ONE LITTLE FREE COMMUNITY LIBRARY AT A TIME
Research shows that globally more than 775 million people over the age of 15 are illiterate. That’s 17 percent of the world’s adult population. Additionally, 67 million children have no access to education. Consequently, it’s no surprise that a key focus area for Rotary is basic education and literacy; Rotary plays its part by working to strengthen the capacity of communities to support basic education and literacy, reduce gender disparity in education, and increase adult literacy.
Rotarians share a unique passion for taking action to improve their communities and the world. The goal was to turn table-top beds into thriving gardens for the residents of the home. Amidst the intense Sunday morning sun, Rotarians took charge of planting vegetables in table-top beds within the shade house.
