2017 Trinidad
The annual District 7030 PETS, Conference & Assembly will be taking place next April from the 26th through 29th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Trinidad & Tobago.
2017 is a most significant year as we shall celebrate the 25th Anniversary of District 7030!
The annual PETS, Conference & Assembly will be the pinnacle of recognition and celebration of this most significant milestone and the Conference Planning Committee is working hard to ensure that all aspects are well-planned and raising the bar to ensure an unforgettable experience for all.
A yearly staple on the District calendar, the conference brings together members of the Rotary family in our region and 2017 marks another special occasion where for the first time both Rotarians and Rotaractors will be simultaneously participating and sharing in a singular conference event. Another momentous milestone at the 2017 Conference will be the official welcoming of four (4) clubs [RC Curacao, RC Willemstad, RC Aruba & RC Bonaire] with two hundred (200) Rotarians from three (3) countries [Aruba, Bonaire & Curacao] into the District 7030 family – so there is much to celebrate!
Equally centered on educating members on leadership and development, as well as, on sharing new information, experiences and knowledge, the District PETS & Conference also facilitate the opportunity for members from different parts of the District to form lasting and mutually beneficial partnerships and relationships towards better humanitarian projects and activities.
The Conference is broken into five distinct categories:
- Leadership Training via PETS (26th -27th April) – geared to train incoming officers such as incoming Club Presidents, Club Secretaries and Assistant District Governors
- Conference Proceedings (28th April) - open to all Rotarians to learn about new developments in Rotary and new projects
- General Assembly (29th April) – open to all Rotarians to learn about and vote on new resolutions to District Policy and Procedures
- Daily Excursions – offered to Rotarians, families and guests and allows one to explore a country and experience its culture and offerings
- Evening Socials – open to all and designed to promote great food, fun and fellowship and includes:
- Opening Ceremony (27th April)
- Hospitality Night (28th April)
- Closing Ceremony & Banquet (29th April)
Set to be one of largest District Conferences in the last 25 years, 2017 is looking to host approximately eight hundred (800) registrants over the four-day event. These attendees will be made up of both Rotarians and Rotactors from around the Caribbean representing an array of cultures, professions and backgrounds. Additionally, many other Rotarians, families and guests resident in Trinidad & Tobago will be attending the several daily and evening social events scheduled during the week. Several of these guests include Heads of State; Diplomats; prominent individuals from the public and private sectors, as well as, other non-governmental organizations; and, several media representatives.
We encourage Rotarians from across District 7030 to attend the 2017 Conference – whether this would be your first district conference or you are a veteran, this will undoubtedly be an enlightening and memorable experience for all.
