Material For Club Rotary Foundation Committee
As a club committee chair you help make your club a successful, thriving, and fun place. Whether you have been appointed as a committee chair or serve as a committee member, you can help your club improve your communities and develop leaders.
SOME OF WHAT YOU DO
- Oversees committee functions
- Convenes regular committee meetings and activities
- Supervises and coordinates the committee’s work
- Reports activities to club board
The Rotary Foundation is the charitable arm of Rotary International and is supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation. Through Foundation grants, Rotarians are able to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.
The role of the Club Rotary Foundation Committee is to develop and implement a plan to support the Foundation through program participation and fi nancial contributions through community and international service.
Some of the responsibilities of the Club Rotary Foundation Committee include:
- Develop committee goals to achieve club Foundation goals for the coming year.
- Educate and train club members about the Foundation and available Foundation programs and opportunities.
- Encourage and facilitate members to participate in Foundation programs.
- Ensure that your club and its members contribute to The Rotary Foundation and that members are aware of the various Foundation recognition avenues and opportunties.
- Communicate the Foundation goals of the district and Trustees of TRF to club members
- Conduct any other activities associated with the effective operation of the club.
