If we are to celebrate World Women's Day on March 8, 2019, this is proof that we have not yet achieved the goal of considering women as full-fledged human beings with all their skills. and in all its diversity. Let's remember that in Rotary it was not until 1987 that the woman officially joined the clubs of this organization.

We must continue to demonstrate, to explain how important it is for women to be part of the changing world of today and tomorrow.

We must put in place the means so that it clearly finds its place in society and understand that it is not a competition but a setting up of complementary means.

Of course, all this is possible only if everyone accepts open-mindedness. But it is essential that we, women, raise our boys with concepts other than those advocated by past generations, that we inculcate them the respect of the woman, not because she would be physically less advantaged than the man if so much is that we can speak of advantage, but just because she is a human being in the same way as man.

The advances are factual. It is important to emphasize it.

This is a topic that we have regularly touched on during my Club visits this year. And I could see a real desire to bring more women into the clubs.

The appointment of DGND Sonya Alleyne shows that we are on the right track, and I want to believe that in less than 5 years we will see a woman at the head of RI.

For my part, I hope that one day we will not have the need to devote a day so that we are put forward ... Then we can say that we have reached the goal!

Very good day
